In a world where guns are gone, a nameless drifter arrives in a city ruled by a warlord and joins a bartender and a young samurai in a revenge plot. Josh Hartnett is the outsider at the center, moving through a stylized underworld of hand-to-hand fights, backroom deals, and carefully staged confrontations. Ron Perlman’s ruler keeps control with an army of thugs and nine assassins, turning every step toward him into another showdown as the three men close in.
