A French intelligence officer returns to Paris after six years undercover in Damascus, but he can’t let go of the alias that kept him alive. Mathieu Kassovitz is the operative at the center of the DGSE’s Office of Legends, the unit that creates and manages deep-cover agents sent into hostile countries to recruit sources while living under fabricated identities for years. Back at headquarters, Sara Giraudeau and Jean-Pierre Darroussin are among the officers navigating a system built on compartmentalized secrets, chain-of-command pressure, and the danger that comes when one agent’s false life starts bleeding into the real one.
