A year after losing his father in the September 11 attacks, eleven-year-old Oskar Schell finds a mysterious key among his dad’s belongings and becomes convinced it points to one last clue. Thomas Horn is Oskar, an inventive, troubled New Yorker who carries the search across the city, following small leads from one stranger to the next in hopes of finding the lock that fits. Tom Hanks is the father whose riddles and encouragement still shape Oskar’s world, while Sandra Bullock’s mother remains a distant presence as grief, memory, and the noise of post-9/11 New York press in around him.
