Drama105 minWatch trailer
In 19th-century Saumur, Eugénie Grandet lives in a tightly controlled household where her father Félix hoards a hidden fortune and treats every suitor as a threat. Joséphine Japy is Eugénie, whose quiet life with her mother is shaped by thrift, routine, and her father's authority. Olivier Gourmet's Félix presides over the house with relentless avarice, guarding both his money and his daughter's future. When his nephew Charles, an orphaned Parisian suddenly stripped of wealth, arrives at the family home, the balance of the house begins to shift around Eugénie.
