The Red Violin
DramaMysteryRomanceThriller131 min
Crafted in Italy in 1681, a remarkable red violin passes from owner to owner across Austria, England, China, and Canada, carrying beauty and tragedy with it. Carlo Cecchi is Bussotti, the master maker whose instrument becomes the thread linking centuries of separate lives. In present-day Montreal, Samuel L. Jackson's appraiser examines the violin before an auction and begins piecing together the history attached to it. The story shifts across eras and countries, following the instrument through changing hands as its past surfaces one chapter at a time.
