The Last Temptation of Christ

Drama164 min

Jesus is a Judean carpenter living under Roman occupation, increasingly convinced that he is the son of God and tormented by what that calling demands. Willem Dafoe carries him as a man pulled between compassion, fear, and doubt, while Harvey Keitel's Judas presses for revolt against Rome. In Martin Scorsese's retelling, the biblical story stays close to hunger, labor, and political unrest, with disciples and authorities alike pushing Jesus toward a role he struggles to accept.
