The Pale Blue Eye
CrimeDramaHorrorMysteryThriller130 min
When a West Point cadet is found hanged in 1830 and his heart is cut out, the military academy quietly calls in former New York City constable Augustus Landor to investigate before the scandal spreads. Christian Bale is Landor, a weary detective trying to work around the cadets’ code of silence and the demands of the school’s top brass. His most useful ally becomes an odd young cadet with a gift for observation and a fixation on poetry: Harry Melling’s Edgar Allan Poe. Snow-covered grounds, rigid military order, and a string of violent clues shape the case as Landor digs deeper.
