Mulholland Falls

CrimeDramaMysteryThriller107 min

In 1950s Los Angeles, a special LAPD crime squad takes on the murder of a young woman, pulling a tightly controlled unit into a case that reaches beyond routine police work. Nick Nolte is the hard-lined face of the squad, backed by fellow detectives played by Chazz Palminteri, Michael Madsen, and Chris Penn. Jennifer Connelly is tied to the investigation at its center, with Melanie Griffith and John Malkovich moving through the same web of secrecy, power, and violence. The film frames its police story in a polished neo-noir Los Angeles of nightclubs, political influence, and backroom deals.
