Matrubhoomi: A Nation Without Women

Drama99 min

After generations of female infanticide leave a future rural Indian village with almost no women, a young woman is bought as a bride for a household of brothers. Tulip Joshi is the woman at the center of the bargain, entering a marriage shaped less by intimacy than by bride price, caste, and the need to produce heirs. With Sudhir Pandey among the men enforcing the arrangement, the story stays close to village life as ritual, property, and family authority turn one woman into a shared possession, exposing the social order built around her scarcity.
