8-Bit Christmas
ComedyFamilyFantasy98 min
In late-1980s suburban Chicago, ten-year-old Jake Doyle wants one thing for Christmas: the newest video game system, and he turns that wish into an all-out campaign. Winslow Fegley is Jake, a kid whose holiday mission grows from pleading with adults into a neighborhood scramble, with Neil Patrick Harris and June Diane Raphael in the family orbit around him. Between schoolyard deal-making, Christmas-season distractions, and one very specific piece of tech every kid seems to want, the movie builds its story around childhood obsession and the small-scale chaos of trying to get the impossible onto a holiday wish list.
