The Breaking Point

CrimeDramaThriller97 min

In coastal California, charter-boat captain Harry Morgan is an honest fisherman with a family to support and bills he can’t outrun. John Garfield is Harry, taking whatever work he can until desperation pushes him to hire out his boat for criminal cargo and dangerous passengers on runs toward Mexico. Patricia Neal threads through the story as a sharp, flirtatious woman who adds another strain to a marriage already under pressure. As a shady lawyer opens the door to riskier jobs, Harry’s compromises start piling up on the docks, on the water, and at home.
