Valhalla Rising
ActionAdventureDramaFantasy93 min
In 1000 AD Scandinavia, Mads Mikkelsen is One Eye, a mute warrior held in chains by a Norse chieftain until a boy slave helps him break free. Their escape leads them aboard a Viking vessel with a band of Christian crusaders bound for the Holy Land, but the voyage disappears into endless fog and drifts toward an unknown shore. Directed by Nicolas Winding Refn, the film follows One Eye and the boy through a world of captivity, faith, violence, and stark visions, with the medieval landscape stripped down to mud, sea, and blood.
