Eddington
ComedyCrimeDramaWestern149 min
May 2020 turns Eddington, New Mexico, into a pressure cooker when a feud between the town sheriff and its mayor starts pitting neighbor against neighbor. Joaquin Phoenix is Sheriff Joe Cross, facing off with Pedro Pascal's Mayor Ted Garcia as COVID restrictions, protests, and a contested local election push old resentments into the open. Written and directed by Ari Aster, the film keeps its focus on a small town where politics, suspicion, and violence begin to overlap.
