Kaiju No. 8

ActionAdventureAnimationAnimeSci-Fi23 min per episode

Kafka Hibino once promised his childhood friend Mina Ashiro that they’d join The Defense Force together, but years later he’s cleaning up the wreckage left behind by Kaiju attacks instead of fighting them. When he meets the determined Reno Ichikawa, Kafka’s stalled ambition starts moving again, pulling him back toward the promise he left behind. Masaya Fukunishi and Wataru Kato are among the Japanese voices in a world built around giant creatures, military response teams, and the unglamorous labor that follows every battle. The series keeps one eye on monster-scale destruction and the other on Kafka’s late push to catch up.
