Téa Leoni is a TV reporter who uncovers the government’s hidden crisis just as President Beck (Morgan Freeman) prepares to address the country. At the same time, Robert Duvall’s veteran astronaut is chosen to lead a joint American-Russian mission into space in hopes of stopping the comet before impact. As officials weigh shelters and survival plans, the film moves between the White House, the newsroom, and families on the ground facing the possibility of extinction.
