Years after a childhood act leaves them linked by strange psychic powers, four friends head to a hunting cabin in the Maine woods and run into a blizzard, a spreading infection, and something not human moving through the snow. Thomas Jane, Jason Lee, Damian Lewis, and Timothy Olyphant make up the group at the center, bound by a connection that turns memory and perception into part of the threat. As the invasion grows more grotesque, Morgan Freeman enters the story as events in the woods widen beyond the cabin and the men who thought they understood what tied them together.
