The Great Impostor

ComedyDrama113 min

Ferdinand Waldo Demara drifts from one stolen identity to the next, slipping into jobs he has no business doing and talking his way past anyone who gets too close. Each new role gives him status, shelter, and a fresh chance to reinvent himself, but it also raises the risk that someone will notice the gaps in his story. As the lies pile up, he keeps moving, trading one uniform or profession for another before the last deception can catch him. Tony Curtis plays Demara as a man whose nerve and charm keep opening doors, even as every success makes the next impersonation harder to sustain.
