Lila & Eve

CrimeDramaThriller94 min

Viola Davis is Lila, a mother shattered by her son’s murder and left with little faith that anyone will be held accountable. At a support group for parents who’ve lost children to street violence, she meets Jennifer Lopez’s Eve, whose blunt advice pushes Lila toward action instead of mourning. As the two women begin tracking the people tied to the killing, grief, anger, and suspicion shape their partnership. Charles Stone III’s film stays close to Lila’s point of view as a search for justice starts crossing lines the police never would.
