When a research sub is crippled at the bottom of the Pacific, deep-sea rescue diver Jonas Taylor is pulled back to the Mariana Trench and the encounter he never forgot. Jason Statham is Jonas, called in to save the trapped crew after a massive predator attacks from below: a megalodon, an extinct ancestor of the great white thought to be gone for good. Li Bingbing joins the international team racing against time as the rescue mission becomes a confrontation with a 75-foot shark moving from the trench toward open water.
