Dead Like Me

ComedyDramaFantasy45 min per episode

After an abrupt, absurd death, a disaffected young temp clerk learns the afterlife comes with a job. Ellen Muth is George, newly assigned to a small team of grim reapers in Seattle, where the work means showing up at the moment of death and guiding souls onward while trying to pass for ordinary among the living. Mandy Patinkin's Rube leads the group with weary authority, alongside coworkers who treat this strange cosmic bureaucracy like another shift to get through. The show splits its attention between George's dead-end new profession and the family she has left behind.
