The Absence of Eden
CrimeDramaRomanceThriller85 min
On the U.S.-Mexico border, an ICE agent wrestling with the demands of his job crosses paths with Esmee, an undocumented woman fleeing cartel violence. Zoe Saldaña is Esmee, whose fight to survive collides with Garrett Hedlund’s conflicted officer when an innocent girl is caught in the middle. As their lives intersect, the film moves through a border world shaped by patrols, smugglers, and people trying to make it across, tying a personal story of escape to the moral strain of immigration enforcement.
