Going Overboard
Comedy99 min
Adam Sandler is Schecky Moskowitz, a struggling comic working as a cocktail waiter on a cruise ship while angling for a shot at the lounge microphone. Surrounded by beauty pageants, shipboard chaos, and a headlining comedian who guards his spot, Schecky spends the voyage chasing the kind of break that might move him from serving drinks to doing stand-up. Billy Zane and Allen Covert are part of the shipboard ensemble, as the film stays in the world of stage rivalries, awkward flirtation, and broad comedy against a distinctly late-1980s cruise-ship backdrop.
