John Q

CrimeDramaThriller116 min

After his young son is denied a heart transplant because their insurance won’t cover it, John Quincy Archibald takes a hospital emergency room hostage and refuses to leave until the boy is placed on the donor list. Denzel Washington is John Q., a father pushed from panic into public crisis, while Kimberly Elise’s Denise fights beside him as the family’s options disappear. With patients, doctors, and police trapped inside the standoff, the film keeps its focus on one household’s medical emergency and the escalating fallout once John turns desperation into a demand.
