Cuties

Drama96 min

Amy is 11, caught between her conservative Senegalese-French family and the world she finds at school when she joins a dance group called the Cuties. Fathia Youssouf is Amy, whose fascination with the crew pulls her toward friendship, rebellion, and a new awareness of her own femininity, unsettling the values her mother is trying to protect. As dance rehearsals, peer pressure, and internet culture reshape how she sees herself, the gap between home and school grows sharper. Maïmouna Doucouré’s film keeps its focus close on a girl testing boundaries she only partly understands.
