To impress her boss, a young advertising executive pretends to be engaged to a man she has just met, then has to keep the fiction going as work and romance start colliding. Jennifer Aniston is the ambitious ad exec at the center of the mess, and Jay Mohr turns up as the actor she recruits to pose as her fiancé. Kevin Bacon threads into the picture as a co-worker who complicates things further, while office politics, awkward introductions, and one small lie keep expanding the situation beyond her control.
