In a small British town, a routine missing-person case starts to feel wrong almost immediately. What should be a brief search keeps opening into stranger incidents, half-buried grudges, and secrets the community would rather leave alone. As the investigation widens, everyday places and familiar faces take on a more unsettling shape, and the line between local gossip, crime, and something harder to explain begins to blur. The series keeps its focus on how a town closes ranks when pressure builds, even as each new lead points in a different direction. Andrew Buchan’s story mixes deadpan humor with a mystery that keeps slipping out of easy reach.
