The Big Lebowski

ComedyCrime117 min

Jeff Bridges is Jeffrey “The Dude” Lebowski, an unemployed Los Angeles bowler whose routine of White Russians and league nights is upended when thugs mistake him for a wheelchair-bound millionaire with the same name. Hoping to get compensation for a ruined rug, he pays a visit to his wealthy namesake and gets pulled into a kidnapping case involving missing money, adult-film connections, and a parade of increasingly strange encounters. John Goodman and Steve Buscemi are part of the Dude’s bowling circle as the Coens turn a noir mix-up into something scruffier and more absurd, with nihilists, ferrets, and one very stubborn case of mistaken identity.
