In a World...

Comedy93 min

Carol (Lake Bell) is a struggling vocal coach with a sharp ear and a bigger goal: breaking into the male-dominated world of movie-trailer voice-overs. Her father Sam (Fred Melamed) is the booming legend of the business, and his approval matters almost as much as the jobs he can open or close. As Carol starts finding opportunities of her own, with sound engineer Louis in her corner, family tension and industry sexism keep colliding. Moving through recording booths, casting sessions, and awkward Hollywood gatherings, the film stays close to the strange craft of selling movies with a voice and the rivalry inside one family built around it.
