As Camp Crystal Lake prepares to reopen years after a child’s drowning and a string of killings, a new group of counselors heads into the woods to fix up the cabins and ignore the locals’ warnings about a death curse. Adrienne King and Kevin Bacon are among the staffers who find their summer job turning deadly as an unseen attacker begins stalking the camp. With the lake on one side, dense woods on the other, and no clear way to tell who’s behind it, the film builds its tension around isolation, rumor, and the camp’s bloody history.
