After 15 years locked in a private cell with no explanation, Oh Dae-su is suddenly released and pushed into a revenge hunt for the person who took his life away. Choi Min-sik is Dae-su, a businessman reduced to fury and obsession; along the way, Mi-do (Kang Hye-jeong), a young sushi chef, becomes entwined in his search. Park Chan-wook’s film turns that setup into a mystery built from confinement, surveillance, and sudden violence, as Dae-su pieces together who imprisoned him, why he was chosen, and what waits at the end of the trail.
