Where the Wild Things Are

ActionAdventureDramaFamilyFantasy101 min

After clashing with his mother, Max runs away and sails to an island where a pack of giant talking creatures crown him their king. Max Records is the lonely, unruly Max, and James Gandolfini gives Carol a bruised, volatile voice among the Wild Things. On the island, forts go up, secret hideaways appear, and the beasts throw themselves into Max’s promise to build a place where everyone can be happy. Spike Jonze’s version keeps Maurice Sendak’s world tactile and a little untamed, with heavy fur, dirt underfoot, and creatures whose moods swing as sharply as Max’s own.
