The Mask of Zorro

ActionAdventureComedyDramaRomanceThrillerWestern136 min

Twenty years after Don Rafael Montero stripped him of his freedom and family, the original Zorro breaks out of prison in Alta California and chooses a successor to help settle the score. Anthony Hopkins is Don Diego de la Vega, older now and forced to work from the shadows, while Antonio Banderas's Alejandro Murrieta starts as a reckless bandit with his own grudge against Montero's circle. As Diego trains Alejandro in swordplay, deception, and the manners behind the mask, their plan draws them into Montero's political scheme and into the orbit of Elena (Catherine Zeta-Jones), whose clashes with Alejandro carry as much spark as the film's duels.
