Catch-22

ActionComedyDramaThrillerWar44 min per episode

On Pianosa Island during World War II, bombardier John Yossarian is trying to survive enough missions to get sent home, only to find that the army’s rules keep moving the finish line. Christopher Abbott is Yossarian, caught between deadly flights over Italy and the absurd bureaucracy waiting for him back on base, where every attempt to protect himself seems to prove he has to keep flying. Kyle Chandler’s Colonel Cathcart hovers over the squadron, raising expectations from a safe distance, while Hugh Laurie brings another layer of polished self-interest to the officers around him. The series keeps one eye on wartime danger and the other on the logic trap that gives the story its name.
