The Colbert Report

Comedy24 min per episode

Each episode centers on a blustering TV pundit who treats opinion as fact, certainty as expertise, and his own persona as the main event. Stephen Colbert hosts in character as Stephen Colbert, a self-important anchor who delivers mock news, interviews guests, and reacts to politics and culture with absolute confidence and shaky understanding. The joke keeps widening as the show copies the rhythms of cable commentary: breathless outrage, selective facts, patriotic spectacle, and arguments built more on performance than reason. As stories change, the target stays clear—personality-driven political media, especially the conservative talk format the show mimics so closely.
