Holes

ActionAdventureComedyDramaFamilyMystery117 min

Wrongly convicted of theft, Stanley Yelnats is sent to Camp Green Lake, a juvenile detention camp in the Texas desert where the boys spend every day digging five-foot holes in a dried-up lake bed. The staff insist the work builds character, but the endless digging starts to look like part of another plan. As Stanley tries to survive the camp’s rules and brutal heat, he pieces together why the Warden, played by Sigourney Weaver, is so determined to keep the holes coming. The search reaches back to the legend of outlaw Kissin’ Kate Barlow and the bad luck that has followed Stanley’s family for generations, turning punishment detail into a hunt for something buried long ago.
