Jackie is a divorced mother of two whose uneasy truce with her ex-husband’s new girlfriend falls apart as Isabel, a fashion photographer, tries to find her place with the children. Susan Sarandon is Jackie, protective and openly hostile to the idea of a stepmother, while Julia Roberts’s Isabel keeps colliding with the rules and loyalties of an already fractured household.
