When aliens misread 1980s arcade-game footage as a declaration of war, Earth comes under attack from giant versions of Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, Galaga, and Centipede. Adam Sandler is Sam Brenner, a onetime arcade champion pulled back into action by Kevin James’s President Will Cooper, his childhood friend turned commander in chief. As the military scrambles to respond, Sam teams with other former gaming stars, including Peter Dinklage and Josh Gad, to take on pixelated assaults hitting New York and beyond. The movie turns old-school arcade icons into city-scale threats, mixing invasion-movie chaos with throwback gaming nostalgia.
