We Are What We Are

DramaHorrorThriller105 min

When the Parker family matriarch dies, her husband and daughters are forced to keep up the ancient customs that have long defined their secluded household. Bill Sage’s Frank Parker rules with stern religious ritual, while Iris (Ambyr Childers) and Rose (Julia Garner) inherit responsibilities their mother once carried in secret. As a punishing rainstorm floods the surrounding town, the family’s carefully guarded routine starts to fray, and clues begin surfacing beyond the walls of the Parker home. Kelly McGillis appears as the local doctor whose growing suspicions bring outside attention to a family built on silence, obedience, and something far darker at the dinner table.
