The Accused

CrimeDrama111 min

After a waitress is gang raped in a bar, the case seems headed for a plea deal that reduces the crime to something easier to prosecute. Sarah Tobias refuses to let the assault be softened or explained away. As District Attorney Katheryn Murphy takes a harder look at what happened that night, the focus widens from the attackers to the men around them who cheered, urged, and helped turn the bar into a mob. Jodie Foster and Kelly McGillis lead a courtroom fight over consent, responsibility, and the damage done long after the attack, with Sarah forced to relive the night in public as the case moves toward trial.
