Fantasia 2000

AnimationFamilyFantasyMusical75 min

Fantasia 2000 returns to the original film’s idea of pairing classical music with standalone animated pieces, bringing back “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” and adding seven new shorts. Live-action introductions from Steve Martin and Bette Midler link a program that moves from whales gliding through the sky in “Pines of Rome” to a stubborn flamingo in “The Carnival of the Animals,” Donald Duck helping Noah board the ark in “Pomp and Circumstance,” and four 1930s New Yorkers chasing better lives in “Rhapsody in Blue.”
