Blinded by the Light

ComedyDrama118 min

In 1987 Luton, British-Pakistani teenager Javed finds an unexpected outlet when Bruce Springsteen’s songs cut through the pressures of school, money worries, and his family’s expectations. Viveik Kalra is Javed, a would-be writer coming of age during Thatcher’s Britain as he tries to understand his parents, his future, and the life he wants for himself. Inspired by journalist Sarfraz Manzoor’s story, the film follows Javed as music opens up a larger world while the tensions at home and in his community keep pulling him back to where he started.
