The Kid

ComedyFamilyFantasy104 min

Bruce Willis is Russ Duritz, a successful image consultant whose life is polished, busy, and almost entirely about work. Then, by a bit of unexplained magic, he comes face-to-face with Rusty (Spencer Breslin), the 8-year-old version of himself — a blunt, wounded kid who’s horrified to see what he grows up into. Russ first treats the boy like a hallucination, but Rusty’s questions about the life he wanted, the life he has, and even the dog he never got start cracking that certainty. Emily Mortimer and Lily Tomlin are part of the adult world Russ has built around himself as the encounter pushes him back toward his childhood hopes.
