A Prairie Home Companion

ComedyDramaMusicalRomanceWestern105 min

On a rainy night in St. Paul, the cast and crew of a long-running radio variety show scramble through its last broadcast. Garrison Keillor's emcee keeps the music and chatter moving while backstage nerves gather around the Johnson Sisters, with Meryl Streep and Lily Tomlin as a veteran country duet, and Lola (Lindsay Lohan), a young singer suddenly pushed toward center stage. Drifting through the theater is Kevin Kline's Guy Noir, a down-on-his-luck detective now working security, while singing cowboys Dusty and Lefty — Woody Harrelson and John C. Reilly — trade songs, jokes, and gossip behind the curtain.
