In a tangle of linked stories about life lived through screens, Jason Bateman is a fast-moving lawyer so attached to his phone that he barely speaks to his family, while Paula Patton’s TV reporter spots a career-making story in a teenager performing on an adult-only site. Elsewhere, an estranged couple retreat to the internet as their marriage stalls, and a widowed ex-cop struggles with a son whose online bullying starts to spill into everyday life. As strangers, neighbors, and co-workers cross paths, chat rooms, social media, and exposed secrets pull their separate problems into the same orbit.
