Monsieur Hulot's Holiday

Comedy87 min

Monsieur Hulot arrives at a seaside resort in Brittany for a summer holiday and quietly throws the place off balance. Jacques Tati’s pipe-smoking vacationer means well, but his timing turns hotel routines, tennis matches, beach outings, and social evenings into a run of mishaps. Around him, the resort fills with small rituals and near-collisions: doors slamming, boats drifting, firecrackers popping, guests trying to keep their dignity. Tati builds the comedy through observation and movement, letting Hulot’s presence reshape the rhythms of the hotel from breakfast to the masked ball.
