Two broke best friends in New York lurch from one ordinary disaster to the next as they try to build adult lives without much money, stability, or restraint. Abbi wants to get ahead while keeping dead-end work from swallowing her whole; Ilana barrels through the city on impulse, dragging every plan into stranger territory. A simple errand, a work shift, or a night out can turn into a daylong scramble involving bad apartments, missed chances, and the kind of small humiliations that feel enormous when rent is due. Drawn from the friendship between Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer, the series follows the pair as the city keeps testing how they live, work, and hang on to each other.
