Two middle-aged men still living with their single parents are thrown into the same house when those parents marry, making Brennan and Dale brand-new stepbrothers who immediately hate sharing space. Small annoyances turn into a full-scale domestic war, with childish feuds, broken rules, and constant one-upmanship dragging the whole family into the mess. As the fighting gets worse, their parents push them to grow up, find direction, and stop acting like teenagers. Instead, the rivalry keeps spilling into school-era grudges, disastrous schemes, and a strange bond that starts to form in the middle of all the chaos, with Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly at the center of it.
