Mary Shelley's Frankenstein

DramaHorrorRomanceSci-Fi123 min

Victor Frankenstein is a brilliant young doctor whose grief after his mother’s death hardens into an obsession with bringing the dead back to life. Kenneth Branagh is Victor, pushing his experiments past any moral boundary until he assembles a living being from human remains and discovers what he’s unleashed. Robert De Niro’s creature is not just a brute but a scarred, bewildered presence at the center of the fallout, while Helena Bonham Carter appears as Elizabeth, bound to Victor’s personal life as closely as his ambitions. The film keeps Mary Shelley’s tragic collision of science, vanity, and horror in the foreground.
