Red State

ActionAdventureHorrorThriller88 min

After an online invitation promises sex and a party, three teenage boys head into small-town Middle America and land in the hands of a violently fundamentalist church. Michael Parks is Pastor Abin Cooper, the preacher at the center of the group’s deadly moral code, and John Goodman appears as the federal agent pulled in when the boys’ disappearance starts drawing notice. Kevin Smith takes the story from bait-and-switch setup to armed standoff, with anti-gay rhetoric, religious extremism, and a heavily armed congregation pushing the town toward chaos.
