Seventeen-year-old New Yorker Daphne Reynolds heads to London to find the father she’s never met and lands in the middle of high society, tabloid attention, and a political campaign. Amanda Bynes is Daphne, an impulsive teen raised by her bohemian mother, while Colin Firth’s Lord Henry Dashwood turns out to be not a free spirit but a polished British politician with a carefully managed life. As Daphne tries to build a relationship with him, she also has to contend with his status-conscious fiancée, her hostile daughter, and a world of formal manners that doesn’t quite know what to do with her.
